Harley

Harley is a 16yo (2009) mare whose playful personality and desire for connection make her an extraordinary companion. This beautiful girl arrived at Dove Creek in December 2023 with a story of both accomplishments and resilience. Harley’s journey includes a cherished partnership with her previous owner, a college student who made the difficult but selfless decision to surrender her beloved mare to ensure she received the best possible care. Their special bond included barrel racing adventures until Harley experienced a flexor tendon injury that prevented her from continuing competition. She has healed well, but it limits her traditional riding capacity.

While Harley isn’t suited for conventional riding, she thrives as a light-riding or non-riding companion, bringing immeasurable joy in other ways. Her playful nature and willingness to connect shine brightest when Harley bonds with you. Her enthusiasm and desire to please create magical moments of partnership that riding alone could never match. Unlike dominant mares, Harley’s gentle disposition makes her eager to form deep connections with her human companions, which makes her the perfect partner in our Led By Horses Program.
