Harley is a 16yo (2009) Quarter Horse mare who came to DCER from an owner surrender in December 2023. Harley and her previous owner had a very special bond and shared many wonderful years together. After venturing into barrel racing, Harley ended up tearing the same flexor tendon, twice. Her owner did everything right, bringing her to a full recovery with performance limitations. However, being a working college student, it was becoming hard to stay afloat. It was a difficult decision to surrender Harley, but her owner knew we would give her beloved horse the best care and, ultimately, find Harley the perfect home.

Due to Harley’s injuriy, Harley will stay at DCER and has joined  the “healing herd” in teh Led By Horses program. Her gentle nature and curious personality makes her a favorite among many clients.
