At Dove Creek Equine Rescue, we believe every successful adoption begins with trust and connection — between horse and human. Our adoption process ensures each partnership is a lasting one, rooted in care, understanding, and mutual respect.

About the adoption program
Since 2012, Dove Creek Equine Rescue has placed over 80 percent of our horses into loving, permanent homes. Our horses arrive from a range of backgrounds and are rehabilitated both physically and emotionally before being matched with the right person.
We adopt to homes within the United States only. Each adopter must complete an application, meet the horse in person, and schedule two riding appointments to ensure compatibility.
At Dove Creek, we honor the horse-human connection and believe the foundation of any good partnership is respect and clear leadership.
Our Horses
Each horse receives individualized care across 500 acres of canyon and grassy plains, where they rediscover their natural rhythm in the herd. Once ready, horses enter our structured training program under the guidance of our professional trainer.
Every horse follows a personalized plan:
- Younger horses begin foundational training for ground manners and under-saddle work.
- Older horses or those needing confidence receive slow, consistent handling to rebuild trust.
- Non-rideable horses find their purpose as companions or therapy partners.
