About Liberty
Liberty arrived at Dove Creek Equine Rescue on September 16, 2025, as an owner surrender. Purchased through online videos and incomplete information, she proved to have more energy and drive than her 75-year-old owner could safely manage. After seeking additional training, her owner made the compassionate choice to place Liberty in our care to ensure her long-term safety and happiness.
Following an eight-hour journey to Canyon, Liberty unloaded calmly and graciously — a beautiful, well-mannered mare ready for a fresh start. Her devoted owner stayed overnight at the ranch to say a quiet goodbye, leaving with tears in her eyes but peace in her heart knowing Liberty was in good hands.
Liberty is now settling in at Dove Creek, spending time in quarantine before entering our training evaluation program. We look forward to seeing her blossom in the months ahead.
Temperament & Training
Liberty will begin formal evaluation and groundwork once her quarantine period is complete. Her early interactions show a curious nature, strong awareness, and willingness to connect with handlers. Updates on her progress, temperament rating, and rider suitability will be added as she moves through the program.
