About Rosco
Rosco is a 21yo (2004) bay roan Registered Quarter Horse who came to Dove Creek in 2009. He was Laurie’s son Hunter’s first horse and a working cow horse. Together, they learned to do ranch work, roping, and worked on other ranches. In early 2016, Rosco “retired” from ranch work. In 2016 he joined the outdoor musical “TEXAS” in Palo Duro Canyon for a season. As a leader in the herd and as he progresses into his wiser years, he is especially suited to work with new folks and has come to be dubbed the “Gentle Giant.” Rosco now serves in the Led by Horses program – Equine Assisted Learning program, where he is a favorite and has had a powerful impact on many human lives, attributable to his huge heart, exuding love, intelligent savvy, and amazing strength. Rosco is loved by all who meet him.
