A 25yo (2001) Appendix gelding. He came to the Rescue in November 2014 from Deaf Smith County, off the track, left abandoned, and starved, and is one of the most severe abuse and neglect cases we have ever received.

About Leon

Leon pulled through and has become a favorite in the Volunteer and Led By Horses programs, and has proven to be a great teacher for new people. Leon has been in our Sanctuary program for several years since we felt he needed time to heal his swollen ankles and regain his health.

He has healed and is a full-time resident here at Dove Creek – we are grateful he made it! His best friend is Marlena. Sponsor Leon at any amount monthly!
