Irish is a registered Quarter Horse (Strait Flash of Fire), and her owner, Alicia, purchased her from a family who had left her untouched for over two years. Over time and with patience, the two formed a bond. That changed in 2022 when Alicia, facing a difficult move and displacement from fire damage, trusted a woman named Margo Hill to care for Irish in Colorado with promises to ride her, breed her, and give Alicia the first foal. Instead, what followed was a years-long ordeal of deception: a reported miscarriage, a second pregnancy, a foal named Twisted that Alicia never got to meet, and then Margo’s complete disappearance. Irish was quietly registered in Margo’s name, and when she was finally removed from a Texas property in October 2024, where board had gone unpaid and no care had been provided, neither Alicia nor the property owner could track where she’d gone.

Then, in July 2025, the Randall County Sheriff’s Office and DCER seized 8 horses, and Irish was among them, along with a new foal now named Clover. Through community outreach and social media, DCER connected with Alicia, who has remained in close contact ever since. Irish and Clover are now safe at Dove Creek, adjusting to love, nutrition, and trust.
