About Mabel
From the day we picked her up, Mabel was surprisingly calm and trusting. Her name means “lovable”, and that couldn’t be more fitting. Through careful investigation, we learned that Mabel was born at a local resident’s home; someone who, like many others, fell victim to deception by the woman whose neglect ultimately led to this seizure. Heartbreakingly, Mabel lost her mother before her first birthday, a mare who was said to be her mirror image.
Despite enduring multiple transitions, poor living conditions, and inadequate care, Mabel has remained a bright, affectionate, and free-spirited young horse. This girl approaches life with a free-spirited joy that touches everyone she meets.

Currently flourishing in our training program, Mabel is demonstrating exceptional potential that excites us about her future! She recently went in for radiographs to ensure that her growth plates were fully closed before starting her under saddle. It was determined that they are, so she will enter the next stage of her training.
We see glimpses every day of the remarkable horse she’s becoming, and our goal is to continue her development under saddle and help her grow into the incredible horse we know she can be. She would thrive with an experienced trainer who can offer her the home she deserves, someone ready to continue nurturing her gifts and guide her journey under saddle.

Adoption Process Reminder
Each adoption begins with connection and care.
All adopters must schedule two visits to work with Mabel before adoption approval.
Submit an adoption application and allow 7 business days for processing.
Adoption fees are determined after evaluation and training assessment.
Note to a potential sponsor: Every horse needs several sponsors to fully fund their care, averaging $400/month at Dove Creek Equine Rescue. Monthly sponsorships from $10-$150/month are greatly appreciated!
